Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) voices his support for raising the minimum wage during a news conference on Thursday, July 8, 2004. Senators Kennedy and Boxer have been unsuccessul in offering an amendment to the Class Action bill currently in the Senate that would raise the minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.00 an hour.
